Redo of an ooooooold piece i did around 2003 which can be found HERE. Ahhh, I remember being so proud of it then but looking at it now... not so much!
I started this for this contest here. I found it to be inspiring so I dug around in my archives and went to work. It's fun redrawing something and seeing the difference in quality/style/detail/etc. .
End copy paste!
It's funny comparing my past idea to the new idea. In the old piece I had a woman with a moon behind her, simple and straight forward (tho truthfully that's as far as my skill went!). Nothing more. With my train of thought now I try to go a little deeper with my art such as hidden little things that no one notices in the details. I kept the same theme of a dancing woman of the stars...but the moon is a little more hidden. Now it's part of the nouveau border above her head and I added a sky behind her and around in the same border.
Anyhow I think i'm done with it now. Got a few more details thrown in so I am pleased... To keep this in line with the original piece I did I'll submit it to the contest in B&W but I'll probably come back and mess around with coloring this later on perhaps. For now I am happy with it. Yay.
Gorgeous! Drawing in all these tiny details takes skill & patience! Ah, I also especially like how you represented the female fig - they have to have those hips! Most draw them with a lot if chest and very narrow hips, which could mistake them for men when seen from behind! :-D
Amzing improvement, well done ! This image is stunning by itself, all the little details and elements merge perfectly together and the woman's pose looks really natural and dynamic !
can't take my eyes off it, the shapes are so harmonious! and those noveau borders make me bow down
beautiful!
